Wife, Children Of Kwara Lawmaker Abducted By Gunmen

Gunmen have abducted the wife and two children of the lawmaker representing Ipaiye/Malete/Olooru of Moro Local Government in the Kwara State House of Assembly Lawal Soliu.

The abductors stormed the residence around 1:00 a.m. on Monday with AK-47 rifles shooting, sporadically before whisking the victims away.

A source told Channels Television that the whereabouts of the abductees remain unknown.

“One of the kidnappers who contacted the family said he was not yet with his colleagues in the forest to harmonise their price,” the source who pleaded anonymity said.

But when the spokesman of the Kwara State Police Command Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident.

“Details are still sketchy but I will get back as soon as we have comprehensive details of the incident,” he said.

Calls made to the lawmaker on Tuesday were not answered.
