Two Men Arrested For Slitting Neighbour’s Throat In Ilorin

Tragedy struck in the Shao Garage area of Ilorin, Kwara State, early Monday morning, as a man was found bleeding profusely from a slit throat.

According to reports, the victim, identified as Abubakar Babatunde, was discovered by his brother, AbdulRazaq, after a resident raised an alarm at past midnight on Monday.

The victim was immediately rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

Details surrounding the incident remain unclear, though authorities confirmed a disagreement with neighbours allegedly led to the brutal attack.

The Kwara State Police Command identified two suspects, Abdullateef Yakubu and Yakubu Olanrewaju, as being in custody and assisting with the investigation.

“The incident was reported, and two people have been arrested,” stated Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi.

“We are currently investigating the matter, and the appropriate actions will be taken based on our findings.”
