TOPIC: WHAT IS THE SOUND OF YOUR LIFE?
SCRIPTURE: Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness… JOHN 1:22, 23.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The sound of your life determines your welfare in life.
Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that everyone’s life has a voice; everyone’s life is making a sound. Everyone’s life is saying something.
From our anchor Scripture, we understand that John the Baptist seemed to have said, “I am not just a person; I am a voice crying in the wilderness. My life carries a sound. My life carries a message.”
So, everyone’s life is making a statement; everyone’s life is making an utterance.
Whether you know it or not, whether you like it or not, and whether you agree or not, your life is making a sound.
Now, a very critical and thoughtful question is, what kind of sound is your life producing? Is your life producing a negative or positive sound?
The second point to note is, the voice (or sound) of your life is discernible or perceivable by the world around you. Whenever you pass, people hear something. Whenever people see you, they hear something. Whenever people think about you, something comes to their minds.
And what people hear about you is the reason for what they feel and say about you.
In Matthew 16:13, Jesus asked His disciples:
… Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
In other words, He asked His disciples, “What sound do people hear about me? What voice do people around me hear when they see me?”
It is very important to know the sound your life is producing because that is a critical factor in your destiny. What people perceive about you determines where you will end in life. The sound of your life determines your welfare in life.
Beloved, make up your mind to live a life that would cause people around you to perceive God, vision, purpose, godly character.
REMEMBER THIS: The sound of your life determines your welfare in life.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Examine your life and ask yourself, “What sound is my life producing? What are people’s perception about my character?”
- Make up your mind to live such an impactful life that blesses both God and man.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to live such an impactful life that blesses my generation. Deliver me from the bankruptcy of character, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
