DATE: Mon 8th April, 2024Daily Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche.TOPIC: THE MISERY OF THE CIRCUS ELEPHANT SCRIPTURE: For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 CORINTHIANS 10:3-5.THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Never fall in love with chains of limitation, deprivation and bondage. From our previous studies, we have been exploring the importance of the mind. We saw the story of the children of Israel; how their bodies left Egypt, but their minds remained in Egypt. They lusted after the foods of Egypt when God provided manna for them in the wilderness. Paradoxically, they were like slaves who fell in love with their chains and would not want to be set free. Moses was taking them to their destiny in Canaan, but they were longing for their history in Egypt. Moses was taking them to their destiny, but they were longing for their captivity. This reminds me of the story of the circus elephant. This elephant was tied with a rope to a tree for a long time. Whenever it wanted to move, it could not move beyond the length or circumference of the rope because the rope would pull it back. So, it remained in that circle. And it remained like that for a long time. After being chained for a long time, they removed the rope from its leg. But at this point, the elephant could not leave the circle anymore. As far as it was concerned, it was not permitted to leave or go beyond the perimeter of the rope. Now, this was what happened to the elephant, even though the chain on its leg had been removed, the chain on its mind remained with a firm grip. The elephant was kept in that circle until the chain was transferred from its leg to its mind. This is the misery of the circus elephant. Beloved, do not succumb to mental and spiritual bondage. Never fall in love with chains of limitation, deprivation and bondage. REMEMBER THIS: Never fall in love with chains of limitation, deprivation and bondage.ASSIGNMENTS:1. Make up your mind to work on your mind.2.
