TOPIC: THE WORD – THE FOUNDATION FOR FAITH
SCRIPTURE: Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God …. Hebrews 11:3.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Faith must be based on the revelation of the Word of God because the Word of God is the most authentic foundation for faith.
Our anchor Scripture reveals that the Word of God is the most authentic foundation for faith.
This implies that anything you want to do can only be confirmed faith when it is solidly founded on the Word of God.
I will give you an illustration to amplify this point.
Someone may testify in church saying, “Praise the Lord! There was an ugly situation in my life and so, I decided to sow a battle seed of one hundred thousand Naira (N100,000.00) for the termination of that situation. And when I did, the situation was terminated and my story changed for good. The Lord is good”
And another person may hear the testimony and say, “Oh! Is this how to change situations? Let me also do the same.” And this person may sow a seed as well, but may not experience any change.
Then he will begin to wonder why he did not see any result. He may even conclude that such a change or breakthrough was not possible and that the person who testified in church either told a lie or his testimony happened by chance.
The truth is, what the testifier did not say while testifying was the revelation that gave birth to the action he took. He did not share what he saw in Scriptures that made him do what he did to get the answer.
So, faith must never be based just on another person’s experience. Faith must be based on the revelation of the Word of God because the Word of God is the most authentic foundation for faith.
REMEMBER THIS: Faith must be based on the revelation of the Word of God because the Word of God is the most authentic foundation for faith.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Do not base your faith on another man’s experience.
- Let the revelation of the Word be the basis and bedrock of your faith.
PRAYER: Lord, I make a decision today to put my faith in Your Word and not on any man’s experience. Help me to exercise Scriptural faith, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
