TOPIC: WHAT SOUND IS YOUR LIFE PRODUCING?
SCRIPTURE: Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness…John 1:22-23
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The voice (or sound) of your life is discernible or perceivable by the world around you.
It has been confirmed that everyone’s life has a voice; everyone’s life is making a sound. Whether you know it or not, whether you like it or not, your life is making a sound.
The question is, what kind of sound is your life producing?
Another point to note is, the voice (or sound) of your life is discernible or perceivable by the world around you. When you walk, people hear something; when they see you, they hear something; when they think of you, something comes to mind. The world hears something from your life.
God sent King Saul to go and destroy the Amalekites but he spared Agag, their king and some animals. Then in 1 Samuel 15:13-14, the Scripture says,
And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the Lord: I have performed the commandment of the Lord. And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?
Saul seemed to have told Samuel, “Thank God, I did what God said.”
But Samuel said to him, “Then what am I hearing?”
Beloved, it is not what you are saying to God that matters, but what God is hearing.
You must have told God, “O’ Lord, I have obeyed your Word,” but God is saying, “What am I hearing? I see you dancing and praising me, but all I can hear is, ‘Thief! Thief! Thief!’ I see you coming to church early, but all I can hear is, ‘fornication, adultery, adultery.’ I see that you pay your tithe regularly, but I can hear, ‘liar, liar, liar.’ I see that you don’t miss any service at all, but I can hear, ‘masturbation, masturbation, masturbation.’
Beloved, what sound is your life producing? Make up your mind and ask God for the grace to produce the right sound.
Remember this: The voice (or sound) of your life is discernible or perceivable by the world around you.
