SCRIPTURE: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Daniel 1:8

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Behind every great destiny is solid character.

It has been made abundantly clear that character is the bedrock of destiny. Solid character sustains or undergirds solid destiny. Behind every great destiny is solid character. That is why character failure equals destiny failure. All great men are men of great character.
One man who attained greatness by solid character was Samuel the prophet. The Bible describes him as a man whose word never fell to the ground.

1 Samuel 12:3-4 says,
Behold, here I am: witness against me before the Lord, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? Or whose ass have I taken? Or whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you. And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man’s hand.

Samuel stood before a whole nation and no one could find any fault against him. No wonder, God took him to the point where it was said that his words never fell to the ground.

Daniel was another man whose character took him to great heights in life. Daniel, a man of solid character was also a man of solid destiny.

Daniel 6:3-4 says,
Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

They were describing Daniel as though he was an angel.

Beloved, determine to fulfil a great destiny by upholding godly character.

Remember this: Behind every great destiny is solid character.

  1. Determine to live a life of character and integrity.
  2. Ask God for grace to always maintain and uphold positive character.
  3. Determine to fulfil the great destiny God has for you.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for showing me a key to the fulfilment of great destiny. I ask for the grace to maintain solid character in order to fulfil my destiny, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: Integrity compels audacity and iniquity invites calamity. Culled from “15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: 1 Chronicles 3-5

AMAZING FACT: The cerebrum is the brain’s biggest part, accounting for 85 percent of its weight. It needs that size to handle a lot of survival tasks (movement, senses, temperature, and judgment). And the cerebrum also tackles higher-order operations—problem solving, reasoning, emotions, and learning.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Grace to sustain godly character and fulfil solid destiny is released for you now in Jesus’ Name.
