As part of a bid to raise awareness about violence against women, Canadian male lawmakers took part in the “Hope In High Heels” campaign sponsored by the Halton Women’s Place.

The campaign, running for four years, aims to educate and encourage men and boys about gender-based violence while raising funds for the women’s shelter. The male Members of Parliament donned the campaign’s signature pink high heels as they walked around in public to show their support for the cause.

While the campaign’s intentions were positive and aimed to raise awareness about violence against women, it is essential to continue the conversation about gender-based violence and support initiatives aimed at ending violence against women.
