There was major drama
heading to American Idol this weekend as judge Katy Perry is laid out by a gas
leak.
The new series of
American Idol is still at the auditions stage and with a potential performer
readying to belt out a number, judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie
are forced to stop the process as the gas leak becomes potentially dangerous.
Katy, 35, seems to
suffer the worse out of them all and she exclaims: “Do you guys smell gas?
It’s pretty intense.”
Country music star
Luke, 43, tells the show’s producers: “We’re getting heavy propane.”
Katy starts feeling a
little woozy and says: “I have a slight headache from it. Oh it’s bad,
it’s really bad.”
Sirens are then heard
in the background as emergency services rush to the studio as crew and contestants
are evacuated from the building.
Luke informs viewers
as they assemble outside: “This is not a joke, there really is a gas
leak.”
It has been some start
to the 18th season of the singing competition, with 70-year-old Lionel Richie
already giving possibly the most brutal put down of the series.
