Former deputy minority leader in the National Assembly , chief Nelson Alapa has declared his intention to run for the Benue south senatorial seat come 2023.

Declaring his intention in otukpo, chief Nelson Alapa said he stepped down from the gubernatorial race to increase the chance of idoma sons aspiring the the office.

Speaking at he occasion the zone c Apc chairman Alhaji Hassan Mohammed said chief Alapa is the first aspirant to declare his intention in contesting the senatorial race for the party before the leadership of the party at the zonal level.

In his remark honorable Eddy Anyebe an APC stalwart described chief Alapa as people oriented who has declared his intention when non else has done so in the zone and went on to call on the leadership of the party at the zonal level to step up their game since the aspirant is a product that can be sold to the populace.

Others who spoke at the occasion includes the zonal women leader, local government chairmen from the zone and former chairman of Ado local government all alluded to that fact that chief Alapa has all it takes to win the election with impeccable character while assuring that they will domesticate the project of selling him in their various local governments and wards.
