FCCPC Opens investigation into competition and possible consumer rights violations in pay TV Industry.
The investigation follows reactions to a hike in subscription prices by dominant pay-TV service providers such as Startimes, DStv and GOtv.
The operators said the tariff hike is due to inflation, naira devaluation and the 50 percent increase in value-added tax

According to Babatunde Irukera (pictured), FCCPC chief executive officer, the investigation will cover alleged issues of unfair dealings, unreasonable unjust contract terms, colourable pricing practices and illegal conduct.
